Spotlight on Success on the Hispanic Women's Resource Centers
Starting this month, we are excited to highlight the transformative impact of the Hispanic Women's Resource Centers (HWRCs) by sharing real success stories from our community. These centers provide vital services that empower Latina women to improve their job prospects and earning potential. From job skills training to English language classes, computer lessons, resume assistance, and interview tips, HWRCs are making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. This Month’s Feature: Odalys S. from the Community Affairs and Resource Center, Asbury Park
"My name is Odalys S., and I am a proud resident of Asbury Park, New Jersey. I have personally benefited from these services through tuition assistance funded by Hispanic Women’s Resource Center. After finishing high school, my parents moved to Mexico. I had to continue my school and my path, and for that reason I stayed here in the USA. Even though I was legal age at the moment I was still a child who needed so much support. However, now I had to take care of myself, and cover all my expenses. I was working two jobs in order to be able to pay my school, rent and food. I applied for financial assistance through CARC and was granted tuition for Dental Radiology. Today, I’m working as a Dental assistant at a very prestigious dental office, which I wouldn't be able to do without programs such as HWRC."
