The Office of New Americans (ONA) is pleased to introduce and share the New Jersey Family Emergency Planning Guide, a comprehensive resource designed to help families prepare for emergencies. It includes tools and guidance to help families:

• Collect and organize important documents (passports, birth certificates, legal documents, etc.).

• Develop communication and care plans for dependents, including children and family members with special needs.

• Prepare for the possibility of sudden detention or deportation by federal immigration officials.

• File a Power of Attorney to ensure the care and custody of dependents if parents or guardians are unavailable.

• Awareness on protection from scams and access to legal resources.
