This Month’s Spotlight: Claribel R. Hispanic Women’s Resource Center at IACO (Immigration & American Citizenship Organization)

Background:

Claribel R. first visited our organization, interested in receiving more information about our English (ESL) classes. She learned about our organization through our social media, where she found valuable information and services that matched her interests. This motivated her to reach out and become a member of our organization.

From the beginning, her main goal was to improve her English language skills, as she has a strong professional background in her country of origin. Claribel is a teacher with more than 20 years of experience. Her purpose in joining our programs was to grow both personally and professionally, with the goal of successfully adapting to life in the United States and taking advantage of new opportunities for growth.

For Claribel, learning the language was a key tool to continue developing her educational career and to adapt effectively to this new stage of her life in this country.

Assistance Provided:

Claribel received support through various services offered by IACO, including ESL classes, which helped her strengthen her English skills and increase her confidence in the professional field. She also actively participated in events organized by the Hispanic Women’s Resource Center, such as “Women’s Empowerment: Job Search and Labor Rights” and “Empowerment and Wellness: Resources and Strategies for Personal and Professional Growth.”

Through her participation in these spaces, Claribel expressed interest in developing her résumé in order to resume and grow her educational career in the United States. She also shared her desire to start her own business and received guidance, information, and referrals to begin this process.

Update:

Thanks to the comprehensive support of our organization, Claribel achieved important personal and professional goals and established her own business, “Sazonador Clary Sabor a Mi Tierra LLC,” which allowed her to move forward with confidence and determination.

This experience has strengthened her growth as a woman entrepreneur, empowering her to continue progressing and to serve as an inspiration to other women who seek to develop their potential, achieve their dreams, and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.

Claribel continues to be an example of the positive impact of the Hispanic Women’s Resource Center programs, demonstrating how access to information, training, and support can transform lives.
